Just curious if anyone else is using one, and how you like it. We got one a couple of months ago, and I've been using it now for about 2 weeks. So far I really like it, and if we burn the amount of pellets I anticipate, we should heat the whole house for a lot less than I would with our gas furnace. So far, I haven't turned the gas furnace on at all. The plan is to set the gas furnace thermostat at 55 degrees, and run the pellet stove to keep the house at a comfortable temp (mid 60's). So far, I'm burning about a 1/2 bag a day, with nights down into the mid 20's and days in the low 40's. I'm guessing we will end up burning a full bag a day when winter really sets in. I'm curious how many tons of pellets you go through every year, and how large your house is? Where is yours installed, i.e. basement, first floor, etc?
i really really like the corn stoves!!! even cheaper then pellets. everyone i know that has em has em in the basment with radiation vents for the first floor and ducted fans for the second. and thier houses are usually too warm for my liking!! lol very cool investment!
Am I really the only one running a pellet stove on here? They are really popular in northern NY, I guess I thought they would be elsewhere too........
I have some questions about pellet stoves. How do they work when the power is out? How many days will they run with out being filled. And what are the advantages over fuel oil or propane that most rural people use.
