Mine takes me about 2 hours and it's .75 acres with a push mower. I live on a hill otherwise I would buy a rider. With that said you can always buy a used rider use it and sell it before you leave. That way is the cheapest less work way out of it. Plus you can drink beer while you work.
I think we've cleared and keep up the lawn up to the edges of our field now and it's between 2.5 and 3 acres. That's actually part of what I'm looking forward to is spring finally coming and taking care of it. I think it's probably one of my favorite and most relaxing things (as pathetic as that may sound). When riding mower was down last year it took maybe 17 or so hours to push mow the whole thing. Not too pleasant then. Otherwise with the riding and push and trimmer it's about 5-7 hours and I love it. Everyone has their likes and dislikes, but for me I never want anyone doing mine and definitely wouldn't pay unless had to for some reason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My yard takes me around 6 hours start to finish. I've paid to have it done twice when my mower was down. It was $40 a hit and the 2 man crew had it done in 30 minutes. 1 guy cut the yard around the landscaping and house with a grasshopper and the other guy used a Kubota with a pull behind mower. I use a 42" yard man rider that came with the house
You use a 42" mower that takes you 6 hours and it only cost you $40 to have it done? I'm as cheap as they come but that's $40 well spent if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's big business down here... Mowing is needed weekly from mid- March through late October... and an average yard runs around 75.00. That can be some serious coinage. We had ours done once for 150.00 when my father in law passed... that was 11 years ago. Of course we are talking about a little over an acre.
