i joined here a week back n am completely new to archery so im trying to inform myself.i was planning on a bear legion but have takin some advice n found a pro shop.i cant go in untill tue. but after talkin to the guy on the phone he seems real convinced that the rampage is a way better bow.n doin some searching it looks as though he is right.im going to shoot a few on tue n really try n get a good feel for em.the only thing at this point is is im gong to have to buy a bare bow n start saving for sight n stap n rest n release n arrows if i go with it.i like the idea of a lifetime warranty n more speed though n a longer brace height.idk.any insight would be appreciated.
Hey its me again. I asked the same question before I bought my bow earlier this year and nobody had any experience with the Long Draw XT. I went back and forth with the Legion, the Hoyt Rampage XT LD, and the PSE Vendetta DC. The deciding factor for me was I liked the Vendetta DC a little more than the Legion and I couldn't get my hands on a long draw Rampage without paying up front for it first. I will say the Rampage XT is an awesome shooting bow. If the LD is close to it then you can't go wrong. Maybe you'll be lucky and your shop will have one. The LD has different limbs a longer brace height and a longer ATA so I would bet it even shoots better than the XT I just didn't want to spend the money having never shot one get it and then hate it. I'm glad you decided to go to a pro shop first. May cost you a little more up front but if they worth their weight it will be cheaper and save you a lot of headaches in the long run. One more little tid bit. Probably should go ahead and get a release before you decide on a bow. Different releases can react a little differently and change your anchor points. Hopefully the proshop has a good selection of releases you can try out as you try out bows as well.
i was just reading one of your threads.it seems there just aint many out there with our ld affliction.i did take to heart your advice and started shoppin for a pro shop.the only one i found has alot of bad reviews due to i guess the guys there are a holes.we will see.they do have an xt in long draw,n the legion n a few other nice bows that will fit me n told me on the phone that they had no problem setting them all up n lettin me shoot to see what i liked.everything i read online really has me leanin towards that hoyt.ive been doin some serious research on these releases the last couple days n i can see where you are coming from.i think i may again take your advice there.it doesnt look like im going to be able to get my complete set up right away anyhow n i guess a release is really going to play a large role in my shooting experience.my priceline keeps growing the more i shop.its lookin like im going to have to make some calls to get some side work rollin to keep me in a bow n accessories that i want.thank you again for your insight.
