Looking for a high end sight to add to a Z7X. I came accross the viper diamondback while doing some searching last night and liked the looks of it. They have 2 models, one that attaches directly to the riser and one with a dovetail adjustable mount. Does anyone have experience with either of these sights? or with viper archery products in general? What are the advantages/disadvantages of a dovetail mount?

or other suggestions for a higher end bow sight to be considered? price is a nonfactor. thanks!

I had one (on a hoyt ... Sshhhh , lol) and to be perfectly honest , I didn't like it. Seemed to be a decent sight , but for the price , I wasn't impressed at all. I bought the microtune version , and the long screws that do the micro adjusting rattled something awful (sounded like a diamondback rattler) ! And I didn't like the fact that the adjustment markings were basically just stickers , and there were none at all for the somewhete adjustment. There was another problem I had with the elevation adjustment ... The two hex heads , not the micro adjust ... Kinda hard to explain without showing someone ... Let's just say they allowed for A TON of unwanted moving when trying to adjust.

I hope this helps. For me , it was the first Viper I'd bought and was very excited to spend a few extra bucks on a "high end" sight ... I took it back 2 days later. Personally I was very disappointed , might be worth it if you could find a used one for 40 - 50 bucks.

    * that crazy "somewhete" word was supposed to say windage *

And , mine was not the dovetail version.

Recommendation : Spot Hogg , Armourtech ... I like Fuse sights myself.

Yea , I glanced at those up close and personal. Seemed to be decent , but for the bucks , I'd go with a Spot Hogg or Armourtech. I actually got to shoot with one , not the carbon carnivore , but the one under it ... I forget what it's called. AH ! The Primal X5 , that was it. It was ok , but just ok for me. The "tool less" is a joke , and I didn't like the bubble level placement nor adjustment. Other than that , it was ok.

Don't mean to be such a critic , I just recently went through hell and high water trying to find a good high end sight ... It's a pain in the butt. Just so happens you asked about the one or two I've tried out. It's very hard to find a good sight for the money.

I'd never heard of axcel armourtech before, but I'm really liking that sight after doing some research. especially the HD pro model with micro adjust. Now I just gotta find a dealer. Thanks for the recomendation.
