Curious if anyone out there bowhunts long island or NY? I am new to bow hunting and looking to go in the fall season 2011 and was trying to find good spots on public land in NY, possibly on Long island. Any advise or tips are appreciated, thank you.
what part of ny r u from? if you don't mind the drive the catskills r not to far away from the city and there should be lots of state land to hunt on.
long island bow hunting Hey Theres lots of good DEC plots. you can check on their web sight. I usually hunt north shore. Believe me there are some big bucks in there. Some big does too. Theres one sight i would recommend www.libowhunting.com as the season comes nearer theres usually good articles and reports on conditions.
I know it's a very long distance from long island but Steuben county has excellent deer hunting. Quite a bit of not overly crowded state land as well. I know as far as some of the deer take numbers go that some towns in Steuben are very near the top of the list for NY.
