My wife and I are moving to a place called Palmetto Bluff in SC its in the heart of Bluffton I believe. I am looking for any and all info on bow hunting that area. I recently read an article on the Carolina sportsman about bow hunting the beach, thats just crazy, never heard of such a thing until I got to thinking about all the coastal grizzlies that were harvested while I lived in AK, too include black tail deer. So if you have any advice at all I open to anything. I really would rather not have to join a hunt club, but beggars can't be choosers. V/r Brad
I was stationed right near there on parris island. Bluffton is a great small town. Best hunting would have to be with a club. Not to much land around with good hunting for the public. I have some friends that have lived their whole life there and they enjoy it but they mainly just fish. Fishing is great down in the low country.
There are wonderful lowcountry WMA's within an hour's drive of you in Hampton, Jasper, Colleton, and Charleston Counties. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/wma/index.html You will be in Game Zone Three. https://www2.dnr.sc.gov/ManagedLands/ManagedLand/WMAs
