Possibly a badger but I think It's too high off of the ground to be one and not wide enough. Probably a opossum.
Thats a oppossum, porcupine's are shorter and fatter with darker hair. I hope that the people who thought it was a porcupine dont have wild goats in your area, you might mistake them for a deer
