Just got a card pulled from one of my cams and got a picture of a doe with some sort of sore on its side. If you look closely, it appears there are others on its hind quarter as well.

Any thoughts on what that is? WGI_0052.jpg

One on her side almost looks like a scar from a gut shot. Other smaller marks could just be ticks or something.

Strange.... Perhaps it's another warted up deer. Though, it's concave, so it's hard to say. Perhaps she got jabbed with something. Lots of "what's wrong with this deer" threads lately

I at first was thinking a wound from a hunter, but a shot in that area would surely kill the deer, eventually.

My initial thought was something with ticks. We have a TON of them in my area again this year as I found out while posting our property the week before.

could be ringworm also. our cows get it and it raises up like that at first then the hair falls off. also it tends to show up in more than one spot like that. its extremely contagious in cow herds, i'm not so sure about deer but if it was in my herd it'd be on the hit list just in case
