It's funny you mention that, because I was thinking about building one of those just the other day. Just last weekend I cleaned all the junk out of my basement that was left over from the previous owner, and some junk that I have stored down there too. I discovered a 6' section of PVC that I forgot was left over from redoing all of the drain plumbing last winter. I built one back in college out of a 4" section that was then necked down to 2.5" that was run off a BBQ grill igniter, and it would launch them a good 300+ yards when running off aquanet hairspray. I'm thinking about building one here soon to leave down at my camp. I've got a good 500 yards or so of field in front of the cabin so I might just make one and then we will have something to do in the afternoons during turkey season. :d

Man they are fun. I have never built one but my father inlaw had one when they coal miners were on strike years ago. they used them to launch jack rocks in certain road areas, and paint ballons in others :d He demonstarted to me how it shot one time when i was at his house. He launched it across the road and almost took out a window on a new house they were building about 300 yards away :d have fun with yours, you got me wanting one now :d

Aquanet! Lol. We used the same stuff. My gram even used it in her hair. She wasn't allowed near the igniter.:d

You guys are getting me fired up........see there are lots of us "Closet" gun guys you'd never suspect. :usa:

Here's my "In before the ban" contribution.
My Stag Arms factory built Model 2T Tactical entry carbine with it's nice Sampson Arms aluminum free float quad rail forend.
STAG should get more press than they do, they machine all their own stuff and the fit and finish is top shelf. The fit of upper and lower on this gun is as tight and perfect as any I've ever seen.

I threw an M3 Tac light on it and changed out the grip for a Magpul MIADw/ the 'Winter' trigger guard, CAA stock saddle for a good cheek weld and butt pad to lengthen the stock pull a bit, CAA foregrip soon to be replaced with a laser set up.
I was going to put a high end Eotech 512 on it but this simple reflex style holo sight works great and has the same exact reticle style. Unless it fails me I couldn't see spending the extra $$ for more weight. I made sure to grab 1/2 doz NICE D&H teflon coated 30rnd mags with magpul followers, a couple 20's and some surplus USGI 30 rndrs too.

I'd like to do a nice long range predator/match style project at some point too.....for now this one is more of my "Ya might want to knock first" watchdog.:uzi:

Sweet set ups fellas! I've never had an AR, but I've had a few variations of AK's and Mini 14's. When I bought the 1st AK, 20 rounds were $1.65 for FMJ's. I saw some at Cabelas for $8.99 Saturday. :(

That gun is sweet Matt. Someday I may build another for home use, but for now I'll at least have the one I'm building.

Update - I'm in the process of picking Ryan's upper up, but also today placed my order with Mike Milli at D-Tech for a custom upper as well. Wait time is 5 months on the custom upper, so Ryan's will at least get me up and running in the mean time. I may turn Ryan's upper into a more tactical upper once my D-Tech upper gets here.

The D-Tech custom upper is based on a heavy profile 20" Olympic Arms National Match grade stainless barrel with a 1:10 twist rate. He is doing a full fluting job on the barrel for me, and also installing an upgraded Hogue Overmolded floating hand guard that will be drilled and tapped for a double stud on the front of it (bipod and sling). It wasn't cheap, and it's going to be a really long wait........but this upper should be able to shoot waaaaaaay under 1moa when it's all said and done. I can't wait to waste some ground hogs with this thing.

    Quick update.........:d

I did end up getting Ryan's upper (thank you!!). Only thing I'm missing at this point to actually fire it is a bolt carrier assembly, charging handle, and still waiting on my mount/rings and glass to get here. I did also order a custom upper from D-Tech, ended up getting the 20" stainless heavy barrel, fully fluted, moly coated, 1 in 10 twist, hogue floating hand guard (black), tapped w/ double studs, etc........should be here just about in time for the ground hogs to start popping up. Once that finally gets here, I may trade the upper I have now for a more tactical type upper.......these things are addicting.

For the lower I ended up with a black ERGO sure grip, ACE Skeleton buttstock, DPMS lower parts kit, 2x 5 round CProducts mags (can't hunt in NY with anything larger), a pile of CProducts 10 rounders (can't own anything more in NY :bash: ), and a RRA winter trigger guard. I've felt the trigger assembly, and it's total garbage, I'm spoiled from the gun I sold to Matt last weekend, so I'll plan to order a Jewell single stage 3lb skeletonized trigger here pretty soon. I also just bought Burris's new AR-P.E.P.R. offset mount/rings, and a Monarch 4-16x42 SF scope with mildots........:ninja:

Just ordered a RRA bolt carrier assembly, and an oversized milspec charging handle with the Badger Ordnance tactical latch on it. :d Still no glass or mount, may be a while before I get those in finally. Will see if I can post pics of it this weekend though.

Did somebody say "Spud Gun"? I am a huge fan/builder. I prefer White Rain Classic "Unscented" as a propellant. Anyone wanting quick tutorial and basic setup don't hesitate to PM.

Just a quick sneak peak guys. I'll update with another one when it's all setup. I hope to try and kill some yotes with it here in a few weeks.

Still waiting on my Burris P.E.P.R mount/rings and my Nikon scope, but bought a cheapo pair of extra tall rings and threw on a spare leupold 3-9x40 I had sitting around. Gonna go break it in tomorrow, can't wait!

Also, I happened to find a local dealer that's going out of business and happens to have a stash of pre ban 30rd mags. I bought one today, and plan to buy a few more here soon.

Any updates Matt? Did the scope arrive? And more importantly, have you shot it yet? :D
