I have some e-mails I sent a few weeks ago in Microsoft Outlook. Is there any way I can recover the read receipts or proof that someone opened the e-mail? I still have the e-mails. Thanks guys.

Didn't you get a notification in the form of an incoming email? Isn't that how it tells you it was read/received?

No, I work for the local county government and more than likely I am using some archaic version of Microsoft Office or I did not enable something to track the e-mail. Either way, I know that an IT guy could get that info for me, I just want to recover the data for myself. I need a card up my sleeve.

You did not enable the read receipt option so you would get no read receipt and none would be generated. The only other way I am aware of is to access this person's email inbox and look at the message itself.

Got ya Bruce, I kind of figured that might be my dilemma. I will have to go on word of mouth by several professionals that those e-mails were read and discussed at length. I actually have a response to one of them from someone that claims they never received it. Thanks.

Yeah Brett you are somewhat screwed. I assume the guy/gal did not respond to the e-mail? If he did then obviously he opened it.

If if you put a "read" receipt on them...the receiver doesn't have to acknowledge it.

But as others have said, there is no way to retroactively get a tracker.

So, is it a "Read" - REED receipt or a "Read" RED receipt...this is always a funny argument.
