That's because they can't determine from that point if he poached it or if his story was actually true so they split the difference and take the animal. Never know though, I had a county commissioner poach a deer with a spotlight and the local sheriffs deputies picked it up and took it to him and said here's your deer, enjoy. They never asked me if I wanted it since I reported it or anything....pissed me off...muther#*&%$ county cliques. I wondered why they didn't hide and wait for the poacher to come back and collect the animal, instead they ran over in three cars with sirens and lights flashing, drove to the exact spot and told me not to interfere with poaches for my own safety, proceeded to walk out and recover he deer and drove off, lol. Priceless.
If anyone is stupid enough to hit a deer on purpose let them go ahead and pump a few thousands dollar into the economy in repair bills Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The velvet looks to clean. And the amount of people that hit deer on purpose around here are insane. But I know stuff happens and it was probably just and accident. Sent from my arrow using Mathews
Well looks like it was just a tall tail somebody around my neck of the woods was making up! I hope they locate the truth behind this buck! Sent from my arrow using Mathews
Sucks that a great buck like that has to go down to a bumper, instead of an arrow. Sure hope it was an accident. I know in my area, I see 1-2 BIG bucks every year get hit by cars, and you know they are accidents, because usually the buck is laying in the ditch/field all day before someone salvages it.
I've gotten four or five text with different pics of that deer saying it was hit around Little Rock. I don't have a clue if it's true or not. I usually lean towards not true any more these days with all the different stories you hear, but ya never know.
yeah and it is probably on the DNR officer's wall at his house too. I know in my area here in PA I wouldn't think about trusting any warden.
I can understand why they took it but I bet it didn't get destroyed or whatever they do with them. I'm sure the guy kept it for him self.
I know in WI if a big buck is poached and recovered by the DNR they get mounted and go on the wall of shame! Sent from my arrow using Mathews
wouldn't doubt if poaching increases now in WI since there no longer needs to be a police report for vehicle kills. Just call the DNR and take it home.
I would love to walk into a wardens man cave! probably loaded with giants and a few bald eagles too! lol
Every once in a while a story of a warden getting in trouble for keeping game or guns or bows that they have "confiscated" will come up. Not very often though and I'm sure them keeping that stuff happens more than we know.
