I heard it was hit in my area (dodge co wi) and not sure if it was actually. Because the person that hit the deer is unknown. [IMG][IMG]

its sick if it was on purpose.....I don't like unethical kills. I love whitetails....I respect them......I sure hope it was an accident

I got this picture sent to me two years ago. This buck was hit by a car as well in Houston county Minnesota. It's hard to believe that a buck of that age would slip up like that..

I was wondering the same thing. I guess because it is such a nice buck it's possible it was hit on purpose. I saw a huge buck dead last season on rt. 79 heading into Pittsburgh, but I doubt anybody hit it on purpose.

I'm not saying that I agree that it looks suspicious because I don't have any evidence but it is at least a strange coincidence that the person who ran over it is an avid deer hunter from the sticker in the back glass of the truck. If that was in fact the same vehicle that hit the buck. It would be nice to have some more information.

You don't have to be the person that hit it to be the guy that takes it home. If you call and get a possession tag, you can take road kill. Otherwise it's illegal to take it.

My buddy found a deer head in the road ditch when he was working for MNDOT. He took it home with him and called me and asked what to do. I advised him to call and get a tag for it. When he contacted local DNR and told them about it and how big it was, the DNR decided to come take a look at it. When they got to his house they decided to confiscate it because he moved it from the site where he found it. Rather than get in trouble he handed it over. It scored low 190's. I have a picture of it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
