In Arkansas they have what is called a Triple Trophy deer award. It is to take three deer, one with a bow, one with a muzzleloader, one with modern gun all in the same season. It took me pert near 30 years but I done it even though I might kill 4+ deer a year but not with all three methods. Now my goal is to take 3 deer in one season!, one each using my recurve, compound and cross bow. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages but I think it would a neat feat to accomplish.
JakePA did you see that Todd Orr facebook the other day? Good grief guy got attacked by a bear, after attack he started back to his truck, bear came back and attacked him again look him up on facebook he even has a short video about it, guess it happened 10/2/16
Realistic goals: Spot and Stalk Black Bear Mule deer Elk Caribou Sitka Blacktail on Kodiak Antelope Dream Goals: Dall Sheep Mountain Goat Moose Brown/Grizzly The North American Deer Slam is something I've also thought about. I hunted Coues last year, and I'm trying to make it back in January. If I can get it done, it may encourage me to chase the other 3 I would need in the future. If all the stars align with work in 2017, I will hunt Coues in January, Alaska black bear in May, and hopefully Wyoming antelope in August. I could get lucky and squeeze all 3 in, or may not get any of them in. 2018 holds a September elk hunt as of now. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
Major goal that I've had for years is a B&C buck. I just can't seem to get through that ceiling. I'd like to kill a nice bull elk and a nice muley. That's about the extent of my ambitions.
My season goal is to take my first archery buck. I've been bow hunting 4 years now and have passed so many smaller bucks, waiting on one bigger than the 120" I got during rifle season 4 years ago. We can shoot either 1 buck or 1 doe only so I have had tag soup the last 3 years. My life goal is to own a piece of property where I can hunt and one day teach my kids to hunt.
To keep having fun with it. And never forget why I'm there, and who created it. And to kill a buck with drop tines and bases that I can't wrap my hands around.
One of my goals growing up was to hunt the Edmonton Bow Zone (WMU 248) in Alberta, Canada. Well, I've managed to get up there 5 times, and it makes me feel good that I've treated myself to such a magical place. There's honestly no other place like it. It's 1600 square miles of private rolling farms, where it's bowhunting only! Nothing but crop land and timbered pockets as far as the eye can see. These deer up there are able to grow massive racks because they have the 3 ingredients needed, genitics, food, and age. I didn't killed a monster up there, but I did see bucks that belong on the cover of hunting magazines. My best buck was this 8pt. He's not what Alberta is known for, but that bad boy weighed in at 300lbs! I'll never forget that hunt as long as I live.
My thoughts exactly. I'm trying to get my 13 year old on a deer with his crossbow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season goal is to shoot a 150+. Lifetime goal would be to never hunt whitetail again and move out west to chase an assortment of game! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season goal to shoot a mature Buck P&Y or bigger than my last few. Lifetime goal grow a B&C buck on my farm in Michigan by passing young bucks and shoot one with my bow or have my hunting partner or kids shoot it. Not sure if the genetics exist in my county to do it but I'll start letting the 3.5 yo bucks grow a few more years and see what happens. Now only if they can escape my neighbors and local poaching.
Ah nice I've got a few buddies that live in the Glendale and Dixon springs area shocker99. And there aren't any major cities around me lol the biggest place would be either Paducah Kentucky or Harrisburg Illinois Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As this is my first season ever hunting, and with a bow. My goal is to soak up every piece of seasoned knowledge here and use it to my best advantage afield. Oh and maybe harvest one this year too. Bowtech Carbon Knight 29 draw 62lbs Single Pin Peep Site
My lifetime goal is to take out terrorist just before they blow up a building full of people. Headshots only!
Yea we are actually right off 146. Butt right up to the Shawnee. Beautiful country down there and alot of deer.
This seasons goals 1. Kill a 140"+ mature buck with my bow. 2. Kill a coyote with my bow. 3. Kill a mature doe with my bow (not my truck). 4. Kill a Fall Turkey with my bow. Life time goal 1. Kill a 170"+ buck with my bow that I have passed at least once in previous seasons.
Oh yeah it's absolutely beautiful down here. I wouldn't trade this place for anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've always dreamed of going out west and hunting pronghorn, mule deer, and elk. I would consider myself a lucky man if that ever comes to fruition.
