My wife bought me one for Christmas. I think I hate it, does anyone know how to make them work or should I just put a slug through it and buy some thing else?

Not sure how the new ones are. I bought one 4 years ago, out of about 100 pictures it takes, I might get 20 good ones if Im lucky

John, I own the stealth cam i890 white flash cam after trailcampro.com gave it some good reviews three years ago and I must say its still going strong, it has a slow trigger, average battery life but the pics are great. From now on though I am buying covert cams as I am anxious to check my red 40 for the first time. Scoot

I've got an I590 and while it is slower than some of the rest of my cameras, it is a workhorse. I've had it for over 4 years and it's still going strong. Hope you get the issues worked out.

    Blessings........Pastorjim

I had an old Stealth Cam Rogue IR, and it worked great for about 6 years, then the motion sensor went out. Was really happy with it and had great pictures. The sensor was a little sensitive, but you can delete digital pictures. I bought a Stealth Cam UNIT and was very unhappy, the batteries ran out every 3 weeks, but it did take good pics, then it shorted out after about a year. Do not buy a UNIT. I bought a couple of Stealth Cam SKOUTs and they work great. batteries last 3-4 months and good pics. Could be a little faster on the motion sensor, but they are only about $100 each. I will continue to use Stealth cams, all around pretty good cams.

Well thought out wisdom like this, coming from some one that lacks the common sense to realize how a base ball hat works is what endures me to this site, thank you oh twitful one. :)

What is it doing (if anything)? I have one, Archer's Choice model. It ate batteries in two days until I did that reset trick with it. I also found that if i hang it upside down it works pretty good. Put it right side up and it has some issues. (???)

I'm not running out and buying another one. ;)

The first one worked for 3 days then just quit taking pictures, they replaced it with a new one, it worked for about a week and a half and quit, I called the number and was told the card I was using was not compatible, I was told to take the batteries out for five minutes to reset the camera, I did and it worked for two more days and quit.

Hmmm ... Are you trying to take video or pictures?

I took the batteries out of mine and turned the switch on and left it that way for two days. Now it will take pictures for about 3 weeks before the batteries crap out.

Did you try a different card? (I'm guessing you did... but ah, it doesn't hurt to ask)

I have had bad cards before.

It took both when it worked, the videos with sound are great, and yes I got two new cards.

I will try resetting it once more.

New cards aren't always the cause. I know our primos ones don't run the generic sandisk or whatever. I have had great luck with PNY and Lexar cards with all cams.

I had a stealth a few years ago and it worked very well for a few months. When I started having problems, I got absolutely no response from stealth cam (phone, email) it just took a dump on me. The pure lack of customer service has made me steer clear of them ever since.

Mine would take video but it seemed to also exacerbate whatever the problem is with the camera. So, I quit trying to take video with it. :(

Have better luck with the fish!

I have one that I used for a couple of months then had to send it in because it stopped working the second one I got never worked and I was supposed to send it in. It is still sitting on my bench because I dont think it is worth the postage. I was thinking of using a bat but I do like your slug idea!!!

I wear my hat backwards when I am on a boat so it doesn't fly off when we are driving. Im if sorry thats offensive to you. If you dont like that picture I will gladly change my profile pic to the booner I killed this year.
Also, I am a stealth cam owner, and for anyone who has ever owned a trail camera before it is no different. Just read the directions and you will learn everything you need to know.

How bout since you blow bout a $100 on junk you save up a little bit more an buy a Covert. Bet you dont ever gotta worry bout replacing em or worrying bout batteries every 3-4 months either. Just a thought...
