So we have two cats, and two dogs. Hair everywhere. My wife does a great job of cleaning everything, but she's been hinting at getting a Roomba recently to help keep the vacuuming under control.

Anyone have one of these things? Any feedback, and info on which model you have?

Had one....Imho the holding chamber is too small and fills up too fast, especially in the kind of environment you are describing.

I don't personally but friends have one with two cats and midsized dog (pug). They empty the chamber 2 times a week...but they feel was worth it.

As long as the animals don't crap inside you'll be fine :)

Do you know which model you had? If I'm correct, the higher end models have larger holding chambers?

    Hahaha..........

Also worthy note the friends I stated got the smallest model I believe and their two cats were long haired, and two toddlers added to messes

We have one and love it. The dirt holding chamber is a little small and will fill up somewhat quickly with cat hair. We have 2 cats and a dog with hardwood and tile where we use the vacuum most. My wife loves it and the nice thing is it drives around picking up everything. You just have to empty it every so often and then go back to what you were doing.

I did see Samsung is making something like the Roomba and from what I saw, it cleans more efficiently in it's pattern. The Roomba just drives around in what seems like a very erratic pattern where the Samsung one cleans more like a person would with a regular vacuum. Either way they save you a lot of time and you can turn it on when you leave the house and it does it's thing while you're gone. They might not be perfect but the pros certainly out weigh the cons. Hope this helps.

OK, so I bit the bullet and ordered the 860. Has most of the same features of the 880 and a HEPA filter too (I have allergies), and is on a fantastic sale now on Amazon. It's backordered but once we get it and use it for a bit I'll share an update.

Let us know how you like it. My wife wants to get one, but I'm skeptical. Plus, we don't accrue the dirt like some as we don't have pets, so we really only have to run the vacuum once every so often.

My wife has also been asking for one. Our Giant Schnauzer is a fur dropping mess. However I'm also worried he'll destroy the darn thing while we're at work and it's "doing its thing".

I got a Neato for Christmas, because what 26 year old male living alone doesn't need a robot vacuum? That said, I still haven't even set mine up. I live in a smaller sized carpeted condo with a chocolate lab, so if it keeps down on his shedding and the shredded dog toy bits, its a win in my book.

My mother and sister (who got me this) both have one and love it.

We have the Samsung powerbot mini and it's been really good. The Lil lady got scared when their phones started catching on fire but I've been running it and it does a good job( we have 2 dogs).

I have this iRobot Roomba 595 Vacuum Cleaning Robot and it made my life easier. I also have pets in my house so normally their hair are scattered everywhere and difficult to clean. Instead of us doing the daily cleaning using a regular vacuum, this one saves us.

So we've had this thing for almost a month now. It's awesome. Figured I'd post an update for everyone.

Its not a replacement for a good vacuuming once a week, but it knocks down the small things tracked in and the pet hair substantially. It doesn't cover every square inch of the house, but our first floor is roughly 1350 sq/ft and it covers all of it pretty well. We have a mud/laundry room with a litter box for the cats and before there would always be a few pieces of litter stuck to your feet when you went in there. There is a gate to keep the kid and dogs out that I bumped up high enough for the Roomba to clear, now it's always spotless and that alone is worth the price of admission.
