I have a pretty awesome peppered jerky recipe but my wife likes teriyaki... And I've never found a recipe that even resembled anything teriyaki. So, anyone have any advice?

I don't know how to make jerky, but teriyaki sauce is a mixture of shoyu, sugar(usually brown sugar) garlic, and ginger.

I grate the ginger and use crushed garlic. After I heat it for a while, i strain out the ginger and garlic.

Start with a couple cups of shoyu. We get it in a big can from the Oriental grocery. Shoyu from the old country is best. Add 1/2 to one cup of brown sugar, depending on how sweet you like stuff, and a couple tablespoons of grated ginger and 2 or 3 crushed garlic cloves. Heat it for maybe 20 minutes, but don't simmer or boil. Strain out the garlic and gingerr. After that sometimes I like to add a couple tablespoons of sake.

If you want to use as a dipping sauce, thicken with corn starch. For a marinade, leave as is.

I think probably you marinate the meat in this and then make into jerky.

My mother sometimes uses molasses, but I prefer brown sugar.
