I have seen several of these lately in my area. The size, features and pricing are definately attractive. Wolverine 700 UTV 4 seat
Price is definitely nice. I would be concerned about quality and the warranty. A 1 year limited warranty on a piece of Chinese equipment would scare me a little bit. Have you seen on in person?
I've insured a few for customers but I haven't driven or rode in one. Just looking at them, they look on par with the big boys.
Looking at the UTVs closer, they look like they have a lot of the Yamaha Rhino components in them. At least on the outside.
I would buy one. If you can wrench on stuff yourself, then it's all just parts. Research part availability because waiting 6-8 weeks for plug wires would be a disaster.
Beware! You get what you pay for with these. A buddy of mine buys and sells atv's and utv's basically for a living. I've seen a few of these in person. They look great on the outside but sometimes mechanical things such as the suspension, transmission, the shifter linkage etc., are less than desired. I own a Rhino and it is head and shoulders above these chineese machines.
We've had 3 Rhinos and if Greg thinks the Rhino is head and shoulders above the Chinese ones, then I would definitely steer clear. We felt the Rhinos were severely underbuilt and had tons of problems with them.
I know a guy the has one. I think it's a Kymco or something like that. I have noticed that the suspension concern above is correct. That said we were going up some very steep rocky hills in SW Montana and it did fine. I bought our kids some 4 wheelers (110 cc) about 4 years ago for $500 shipping included off the Internet. I was a little scared but for $1000 for 2 I thought I would take the chance since we couldn't find ANY locally. So after 4 years these things still go like the day they were received. I would go through them and make sure all the nuts and bolt are tight as we had a few that were not quite tight. The only other problem we have is at over 5000' in elevation we have to mess with the choke a bit to get them to run smooth. Once that is done though no problems. I tried to get parts for the carb to fix but since it is a knock-off there are none. Still a positive experience and the kids love them. For me money well spent.
My Rhino is an '07 450 (421cc's) that I bought in '09. Got it for $5600. While not the fastest ( wish it was a 700), it hasn't given me a lick of trouble. So far I've only put oil and filters in it. It has done everything that I've asked of it. Then again I only use it on my 45 acres. I'm actually impressed with this utv. However, I would never consider buying a chineese model. My next utv will either be a Polaris or a Can Am.
Yeah, in all fairness, we beat the holy hell out of them in Ontario. Thousands of miles over the Canadian Shield is harder on equipment than most anywhere in the world. The first was a 660 and the other two were 700 EFIs. There is no way I would buy a Chinese one to run up there. If you do look at getting another one, I would seriously consider the Can Am. My dad bought a Commander a couple years ago and that this is built solid. Also, my brother has a Polaris and it can't hold a candle to the Can Am.
This is just my opinion but unless you want to start fixing stuff again stay away from the Polaris. My Mule has pretty much been a dream machine.
It is still fairly new even though it is a 2010. I think I got just under 200 hours on it. No idea on miles.
Honestly, I would just be putting around on my ground and hauling deer out of the woods. I don't go mudding and wouldn't be pulling a disk with it. All of my atv's have always had a pretty pampered life, and my worst luck was with a Kawasaki. Go figure
Gotcha. I would have no idea how many hours are on our machines. I never look at it, only the odometer.
I have a 2002 kawasaki mule. Love it. It may not be the fastest but its definitely a work horse and has tons of power.
I've heard how well built Can Am's are built. We have Mule's at work and they get worked pretty hard driving on job sites and matted right of ways that are pretty rough terrain. They seem to hold up well. We have been happy with the capability of the machine and its reliability so far. Some of the stuff we do. The UTV's are very nice to machines to have around no matter which one you have.
Problem with the chinese atv and motorcycles, as well as the tractors is parts. You can't find parts for them. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
My uncle owns a tractor / combine repair center. He tried to work on s few if them and finding parts was a disaster. He won't touch them now. I have one of the little chinese motorcycles and we couldn't even find a spark plug. We had to modify something to work. By a name brand used, stay away from that crap Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
