Hi I work with Antlers Everyday but love to see new finds. The great thing is they are all different no 2 alike. That is why I always try to steer people away from the faux antler art. If you want something that looks all the same and is plastic and made overseas then go for that but if you love the real deal get it. Actually talked a guy into ordering a real chandelier today instead of saving money on a faux one. Anyway post some pics of some of your finds always love to see them.
Not bad at all for your first attempt. I was lucky when I did my first lamp as I had been working with antler for a couple years and in 2001 made the first one and then 2nd shortly after and they went to Georgia to an antique mall. It's not as easy as it looks is it? I tell people the hardest part is getting the antlers to stay where you want them while you attach them together. Thanks for the post.
The hardest part for me was deciding what sheds I wanted to possibly donate to my learning experience. Luckily I had no problems and it went together pretty fast. I used metal dowel to attach the antlers and a 2 part epoxy for the light fixture. I never noticed before I snapped the photos that the lamp shade was crooked a little. I leveled the part you screw the light bulb in side to side and front to back when I epoxied it in place. The lamp shade is the type that slides over the plastic body, not the kind that goes over the all thread with a decorative nut.
