Because you and I hadn't discussed smaller lifts vs. big lifts nowhere in this thread, and I had no idea of your philosophy on it.

Nice set up. Great way of changing exercises.

I usually do my squats before deadlifts too (if done on the same day). And I always do ramping sets of deadlifts. I typically use similar exercises as you. Front squats being one of my favorite accessory compounds. I would have set up the routine exactly like yours, focusing on deadlifts, then front squats, but back squats, then deadlifts.

My suggestion was, that dynamic training, high repetition training, and strength training has their place for every athlete. Every sport there is all three are necessary.

    185 x 12 :)

Guess it's time to add a bit more weight to the ol' bar.

Good job Finch. Keep working at it. Right now, push-ups would be a real solid way to add chest strength. Remember, when your legs get strong, your whole body follows.

Greg, good work on the bench. Be careful going up too much.

    225 X 8
    315 X 5

4 sets of Lat pulls ending with 190 X 8 wide over hand grip

Those are Fridays for me... I bought an extra P90X workout from Tony's one-on-one series (tagline is it's just him: no set, no crew, etc...) and it's about an hour-long workout called "Just Arms"... Bis, tris, and forearms, over and over from every angle you can imagine.

By far my favorite workout day of the week. :)

Been a while since I saw this thread... I eventually got my bench up to 275 according to about four different ORM calculators I found online... I'm completely switching gears now.

I've started really cleaning up my food intake again for the last month or so and I've already dumped 10 lbs. of body weight. I haven't really started hitting the cardio exceptionally hard yet... that'll come early next year, but I want to be really close to where I finished my first couple rounds of P90X a couple years ago before I start a new cycle.

The new P90X 2 is launching in January, and it looks killer... recruiting a lot more "stabilization" muscles in your core area in each of the moves (like doing pushups on four medicine balls). Looks just like what I want heading into next year's Colorado elk trip again. I want to be bigger -- but especially better -- than I've ever been and go deeper and further than I was the last few years in the Rockies.
