Looking to do a father son hunt next fall and we're looking for recommendations on an outfitter. Western part of the province is where we are looking. There are a ton of a lodges and outfitters looking on the web and many of the websites are dated and not current. If you have been there and done it. What did you think? Thanks
Hey Ruff, My father and I went on a hunt in Ontario about 7 years ago. We went through a guide service we met at the All Cananda Show in Green Bay, I believe its called White Pines Lodge. It is located on the Lake of the Woods and is pretty much a fishing operation that guides hunters during the fall. It was relatively inexpensive and we had a really good time up there. The weather was warmer than normal for the second week of November but we saw some decent deer movement. The guide leased farmland near Kenora and most of the camp made the long drive up there each day to hunt but my dad and I opted to hunt the islands by boat. We saw some decent bucks, nothing huge, but they are up there we really enjoyed the hunt. I would love to make it back up there one day. Here is the lodge we went through, great people. http://www.whitepinelodge.com/deer-hunting.html
