Haven't had nerve blocked, but I've had some success with dry needling. Helps with pain OI have in my hip.

    Fitz, please explain this proceedure.
Bawanajim, I would like to know also.
I ask these questions as my wife has fibromyalgia to which the Dr's say they can't help.

The possible damage that could result from blocked nerves can be irreversible, you just have to measure if the relief is worth the risks, in most cases no, especially in younger patients.
Deep tissue massage is a good place to start.
I gotta run but will get back to you later.

Depending on the type of pain, you may be able to do dry needling. Essentially you get stuck with a small needle (same kind used for acupuncture), but instead of going for pressure points they go after trigger points. Basically where the pain is coming from. I don't know a whole lot about it, but I have a friend that is a PT and she needled my hip. It helped. Sometimes needling works with a single treatment, other time you need to do periodic trts.

    Something to look into though.

Why do you feel that you need a nerve block ?

Sometimes, anti-inflammatory medication is better, such as Cortisone.

I've had nerve blocks pre-op for orthopedic surgeries.

I've also done my own never blocks in my mouth when I let a fractured tooth go too long without treatment, generally used marcaine. I'll also do marcaine injections in my knee, when it "acts up".

Nerve blocks are temporary, and, generally require a series of injections. Depending on the underlining issue you're experiencing, perhaps seeking the advice of a Pain Management Doctor, would be better.

Can you share the issue you're having ?

mine was from a pain management doctor,I have been thru all the meds and anti-inflammatory drugs out there,, physical therapy, 3 mri's .
just running out of options here. the nerve block was no help because it made my lower half of my body dead so i could not tell if it helped at all.
He told me he had only done this once before only after i was half way thru it.

I would share thru a pm. i will send you one. thanks
