Hunt Moose by tracking them only...

I can't stay still more than a few minutes.

Very hard to spot and stalk here in the Northeast however it is my favorite type of hunting!! This is exactly why I use my gun a lot during gun season.

Spot and stalk with a 30-30 with iron sights in Northern Maine is MUCH harder than most tree stand bowhunting in most of the country. You can hunt for years without getting a shot at a nice buck.

I also believe spot and stalk is real hunting. Get on the animals level. Eye to eye. Level the playing field. :) A lot to be said for that.

But unfortunately I live in the northeast and spot and stalk bowhunting isn't even an option.

The 2" of dry oak leaves makes it hard to sneak on anything

Any means of killing the deer that I'm after! I mostly hunt from a tree around here for whitetail, but my two best bucks were taken on the ground stalking and then spotting. As Fitz mentioned it is very hard to spot and stalk these thick areas.

I keep a few certain spots just for this for whiptails here because I don't like to walk my best spots. But I can't think of a more rewardable and great way to hone hunting skills then creeping thru the woods and taking a deer or turkey.
