I was checking cameras on one of our hunting spots and noticed a very good sized scrape. Anyone else finding some good scapes?

Yep, both rubs and scrapes began here about a week ago when the big boys started showing up on my cams.

Saw a buck last weekend while goose hunting shaking the crap out of a small tree on the edge of a bean field trying to get his velvet off. Antlers were bright red.

Deer often use scrapes year round, now is a good time to get a mock scrape started or find where one is and setup shop not far away. The pre-rut is a wonderful time!

I do but then again I force them into making scrapes early and to maintain them. I havent seen any rubs yet though.

Last weekend I saw some deer using a licking branch but no evidence of an actually scrape. Both were small bucks in velvet

I have two communal scrapes on hunting grounds I hunt which see activity year round...some others see activity year round but not as consistent...however the new ones are starting to pop up for sure!

I've seen two decent sized scrapes with one being used regularly. Don't usually see them show up till a bit later in the year.
