Just wanting to see if anyone else on here shows cows. I show dairy cows and have been showing since I could walk in the toddler class. Got back from the North Carolina Mountain State Fair late last night. We had a very productive weekend. On Saturday in the open show we won Senior and Reserve senior Champion, Grand and Reserve Grand Champion(same 2 cows), both group classes, and premier breeder and premier exhibitor. On Sunday in the junior show we won Senior and Grand Champion(same cow as Saturday), and junior county herd. All of these were for the Guernsey Breed. I am only 18, and have to give all of the credit to my dad who started showing and raising dairy cows in his teenage years and has now built our herd to include all of these nice show-quality cows. So does anyone else show or raise cattle? Not just dairy, but beef too as we used to have beef and dairy but went strictly dairy about 5 years ago.
I was supposed to show some at the area fair last week, but my horse classes ran over and never had time to. Always said I want to show every animal possible at least once. Congratulations on your accomplishments! We will be raising another beef cow next year, but I'm sure I wont be doing any showing with it. Our last one was going to be shown, but never made it that far. Must be a good week for us, I won Grand Champion with my horse last week!
Used to help a bunch of high school buddies show cows. Most of them still do but it's moved on to their kids. These were all beef cows. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Never showed cows. I used to show sheep with a few buddies when I was a kid but as soon as I got old enough and sports took over my life that stopped. It was pretty fun
I never showed cattle. I showed sheep a few years before rodeoing. My boss is starting his kids on some short horns he is raising and shows a lot of hogs. Just Ranch Rodeo's and ranch bronc rides for me now
