Looking forward too. I shot up to turkey season to prep, I hadn't shot much after that but did pick up the 82nd for a couple shots a couple nights prior to the NE GTG. I've been shooting a lot since as I'm excited about the WY Pronghorn hunt. Just tinkering mostly. Some nights I shoot 1 arrow, sometimes a couple, some nights a couple dozen. Depends on my mood but recent years I don't shoot anywhere near the amount of arrows I once did. Matt, at a certain stage in ones shooting, it just comes naturally, you're there.
Ive been shooting lately to make some tuning adjustments for broadheads. Now that have that taken care of I will probably try for a couple nights a week, especially if we get a cool evening.
If you are "not" shooting and when you do shoot you are not shooting worth a darn, then you are endangering your potential succes and the animals you hunt. Only you can be the judge.
I'd love to be shooting but I'm giving the shoulder a little rest, hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be ready to roll.
Bfore i even got past the first line, my first thought was Dude your married now, your priorities have changed now :D I wouldnt worry Matt, your still a hell of a shot
I JUST started shooting last night... have not shot the ole' Hoyt RazorTec since last November. Shot again tonight... about 12 arrows between the 2 nights and nothing but net.:D
I have pretty much been shooting nonstop since last summer, i really enjoy just shooting for the fun of it. But lately i have really been working on the long range stuff(50-60 yards) just because it cool to watch the arrow fly to the target. But of course i would never shoot that far in a hunting situation.
I haven't shot but a couple arras out of my equalizers since the ASA Pro/Am in June. I did shoot a couple arrows today to test the new exploding targets. I did manage to hit it (it went off and my arrow was toasted). :D I'm going to the Blue Ridge Backwoods 3D shoot this weekend. I am sooo not ready. I have been shooting lots of fish arrows.
Last money shoot was Saturday so now its time to setup for hunting. About now is when time slows down untill Oct1st.
I went through this stage a couple years ago. I didnt really even find the excitement in bow hunting as a sport and a getaway. I hardley ever shot my bow that year. This year is real different. I guess its because of all the mature buck sightings on our property this year. I guess with the DNRs screw ups and bad gun hunting seasons the last 3-5 years, good things do come out of a bad situation. Last year we never took a buck bow season and only one during gun season. Of course we never really saw that many bucks last year. This year is a different situation. Im anxious to get out there and sit and hopefully put one of the 2 monsters on my wall. Ive been shooting atleast 3-4 times a week, dialed in and ready to go. It cant come soon enough. 1 month left to go
I go in spurts, I havent shot in a month. My cities urban hunts open in Sept, so I will get warmed up soon.
