Last arrow I shot went through a deer last Nov........Probably won't start shooting until mid summer. I have a million other things to do right now.
Haven't shot since my javi/hog hunt in March, at least not my compound. The recurve has been getting a good workout shooting fish though
I haven't shot since Nov. I don't shoot year round. I ussually start shooting about two months before whitetail archery season.
I'm not but soccer season ended last week and Tae-kwon-do(sp?) doesn't start for a month and is during the week so Saturdy and Sunday are looking good. Ordered 2 DLC Covert II trail cams this week also so I'm hoping my fall prep can get started with a little more shooting and some camera recon. in some new spots.
When I get home from work in the mornings I'll shoot 6-12 arrows everyday just to keepthe rust off.Good luck deerman69
Close to what I do. I shoot some carp with a different bow and shoot when I get a new bow for awhile but not on a regular basis not until late summer.
I've been shooting a little on and off. I do a ton of fly fishing this time of the year so that takes up a lot of my free time. I am shooting more right now though because my turkey hunt last through the end of this month.
I did shoot a few arrows yesterday just to see if my shoulder and bicep would still burn. It felt great and I think my shoulder is slowly healing a little.
I've been averaging shooting once a week for the past few months. I just like to take out the bow, shoot 8-12 shots at 20-30 yards and put it away.
Still recovering from a shoulder injury I suffered about 6 weeks ago Lookin' to get back at it this weekend, though
I haven't shot my compound since December 30, straight through a buck I haven't shot my trad bows much either. Just too busy and no real desire.
I shot my compound before turkey season but still havnt had a chance to take it out...havnt put an arrow through my recurve since the one that sliced through my doe. Too darn busy!!
Before turkey season was the last time. Haven't touched it since. Seems like a lot of us are in the late spring funk. I've been extremely busy, both working and getting my masters as well as 20 other things a day it seems. Haven't found the time to get it out lately.
Amen, AMEN, AMEN!!! And bad practice leaves most of us....... I'm getting a hand full of arrows through one or another of my bows every day I can, on day last week the wind was blowing about 25mph all damned day, I didn't shoot any arrow that day because I knew it would have me , then I'd be !!! So it's better to just leave the damn things in their cases or hanging from the hangers, rather than getting ticked and wanting to throw them.
Never seem to have time to shoot at home but I try to bring my bow in to work at least 2-3 times a week and shoot. Max. distance I can shoot safely with being able to see from all directions to make sure nobody steps into flight path is about 28 yds. After I close I can stretch out across the parking lot to practice at 50yds.:d Practice round of 3 arrows: Great group = done for an hour or so. OK group = a handfull or more groups till good Bad group = stop for a couple of hours or so. Bad group #2 = cuss and come back tomorrow:d
I finally shot a few arrows today before I took my son to ball practice. 5 arrows at 30 and all were practically touching,I got bored and put it away.
Hey Nate, I was reading that your not shooting because you need a string. I know that your like me and you don't have a lot of money to toss around. This is what i'm doing. Send a PM to MeanV over on HNI, he's got a deal going for Vapor Trail strings, for my bow they're only $65 TYD, any color that I want. He also has Bowmaster presses for $39.99 TYD so that I can change it myself and not have to drive somewhere and pay someone else to install it.
