Thanks guys! We have stands set up in the best possible pinch points on this property right now as we are at the mercy of the does it seems........I just happened to pick the right one tonight and this is probably the smallest of the shooter bucks we have seen or have on camera in the last week or so. I'm almost sure this is the buck I saw last Wednesday come out in the 75 degree heat across a freshly plowed field only 500 yards from where I killed him. He was 3-400yds away at the time but I didn't recognize him from any of our pictures looking at him in the binos. I tried to rattle and snort wheeze him across to the fencerow I was in but he tucked tail back into the brush. 2 nights ago very close to where I killed him I had a buck chasing hard with a doe snorting at him just like I was hearing last night from this one..........but I never saw him in the thick brush. This one ALMOST didn't happen. Luckily the doe did an about face when they finally came by and took him through the shooting lanes one more time (He didn't stop when I bleated at him the first time) Luckily I didn't even let down on my draw from the first try and when he came right back I was ready and really hammered at him to stop which he did. Knowing the yardage at a perfectly broadside animal isn't going to turn out well for him 99% of the time. It's not one of the real Giants we have running around but I had him at 125" and this PA boy isn't passing any buck like that on public land even here. Turns out he's 118 6/8, so I was in the ballpark but I didn't notice the 1" left brow or even get a decent look at his spread which isn't very wide at 16 5/8". He has a gorgeous cape and is already skinned off and in the freezer for the trip back to PA Monday. Hopefully Greg and I can dial in one of the big boys in the next 4 days. It's prime time and after this little rain we got today I am very optimistic for tomorrow.
