Our area is in awful shape. We got lucky with our house, just a little water in the basement and some trees down, but one of my best buds that lives a couple miles away lost his entire home. In Scotia, NY the Mohawk came over the banks so high that Freemans Bridge was completely underwater, and the river was completely overflowed into Collins Lake as well......flooding out a ton of houses in the process. Vermont got hit really hard too, the covered bridge at the end of the road I grew up on is apparently gone, and my moms house was almost destroyed and has a ton of damage too. Kind of weird in this day and age to have your friends and family homeless in the snap of a finger, makes you thankful for everything we are lucky to have. Please keep those that are less fortunate in your thoughts and prayers. This is a picture from about a mile down the road from my house that was taken today.
That looks a lot like our area did in the spring with all the flooding in the Midwest... glad you're basically ok, and sorry for your buddy's loss.
Irene I did here in SE NC. Winds around 70-80 and 8" of rain. Trees down and loss of power for a couple of days. Have not heard of any deaths around here except for our pigs, turkeys, and chickens. Could have been much worse. My heart goes out to all that were lost or effected by this storm.
I'm but a few miles from the De Bay and the Ocean. Lost power and a computer, personaly that was all but a tornado took out a few homes in Lewis about 40 miles to the SE and extensive flooding throughout the state.
We ended up getting about 60 mph winds and a couple inches of rain, nothing like they predicted, sorry to all that were affected by the storm.
Sorry for your buddy's loss but glad that you are alright and will live to spike more footballs into your face!!!
