Man, so far, I have to say this season has stunk it up for me. I've been out a total of 6 sits since the beginning of October and found out right before season that I will be leaving for a business trip for 9 days starting Oct 31. This takes almost ALL of the best two weeks of the PA archery season out for me. I'll hopefully get to hunt the last two days of the season, thats it.

One of my sits this season, I had to almost force myself to stay in the woods as I was sick as a dog, coughing, hacking, fever, you name it. Most of the season so far I've dealt with either heavy rain, high winds or high temps.

Oh, and to top this all off, I've been doing babysitting duties for our two little ones while my wife picks up a couple of catering gigs and usually has me out of the woods by noon on Saturdays, the only day I've been available to hunt for the most part.

Oh yeah, last Saturday night, as I was "dismounting" my climber at the base of the tree, my feet hit the ground, came out from underneath me and I landed on what I swear was a road cone shaped rock. Now, I have a big, purple bruise on my right ass cheek.

It's just been one of those seasons this year. Hard to get in the woods, weather has been lousy and nothing has gone all that well. I think this season will be one that I will easily forget about.

Sorry, I just had to vent a little. Anyone else ever have a season like this?

Mine isn't much better. I've had Horrible deer sightings, in something like 10 sits I have 11 deer and 6 of those came in one sit. I've had no confidence, it's been terrible. I am hoping it all turns around this weekend.
Good luck getting it done before you have to leave.

Yep. Although my Doe sightings are normal, I saw my first buck from the stand this past Saturday. Last year, I had already seen 4 shooters by now and missed one. The bucks didn't touch my food plot all summer and not much this fall, and its ironic since the acorn crop this year is almost non existent. I have two Doe groups pegged and I'm just waiting to see if knowing this pays off over the next two weeks. I always question my abilities at times like these. I would love to know I will have a good shot at putting a buck down year in and year out like a few on here, but as of yet, and including this season, the confidence isn't there. The upside? You can't kill them from the couch so I'll keep at it. Good luck with the rest of your season. The tail end of this week looks perfect weather wise.

The end of the week looks awesome. Hopefully I can get out Saturday in the am.

I'm seeing a good many deer and probably should have shot already but as usual... I've put off taking a doe until the 11th hour.

This year it just seems like nothing is working out in terms of getting enough time in the woods. I'm honestly ready to pack it in and call it quits until our gun season arrives. I'm thinking hard about using the bow during the pa rifle season this year.

My buddy has had a season worse than that this year. For starts, he ran his bow over with his truck because he forgot about it while changing clothes at night. A week later, we were driving a 4 wheeler through his best hunting spot, and the muffler caught some grass on fire. It ended up burning about 20 acres of prime bedding area, and the 6 fire trucks scared everything out of the county. Then, he shot a doe a little back while I was filming, and we never found her. He has also ripped his mudflaps off his dually 3 times now, and just had his hitch come out while driving to class this afternoon. I'm gonna have to quit associating with him or it will rub off on me

I hear you I'm in western PA everyday rain and high temps to start now rain and cooler temps I'll hunt in the rain but this rain is constant high winds that in my opinion makes it pretty much impossible I look at the weather channel app on my iPhone and all I see is rain rain rain rain 14-15-20 mph winds what a joke it's been so far
