You do realize that professional soccer players are among the best athletes in the world right? How many chubby first basemen could do what they do for 90 minutes.

Am I a true American if I will watch the US in the World Cup and want the US to do well but think Baseball is more exciting?

I do find corner kicks to be pretty exciting.

I agree. Way too much coverage on all the ESPN channels for a sport that just isn't that popular here. I dont' recall this much coverage on the event before. I just think it is over done. Hey.. if soccer is your thing and you're into it? So be it that's cool. I've made attempts to watch it and get interested. Just not happening. I think it has it's place for close to full coverage, like espn 8 or something. ESPN deporte? Something other than ESPN and ESPN 2.

I won't get too much into the age old debate about what sport is harder or requires more athleticism yadayadayada..... IMO (coming from a golfer/lacrosse/hockey/ every other sport known to man except soccer) the hardest thing to do in sports is to hit a baseball like stated. The physics behind it are simply amazing to me. Football players and a close 2nd basketball players are probably the most athletic IMO.

I have nothing against soccer or people that watch it really. I see where it does take a lot of athleticism, skill and endurance to play. It is just painful to view IMO (as is golf for most). My problem is the coverage of the thing!! My God ... ENOUGH!!! And in reference to the "American thing to do " lol. I think it would be more American to watch the US Open Championship for golf and Tennis than it would be for WORLD Cup soccer.

I'm going to tune in and make another attempt for what will amount to 2 minutes probably and watch the US. Then have the rest of it plastered on every sports channel there is rest of night.

P.S. The ball goes out of bounds all the time, the clock goes the wrong way, the announcers make you sleepy and there is too much chanting... like an African tribe or something. I tried... I'm checking out at the 9:41 mark... and going up.

This has the look of a great game. Seems like both sides have been pretty aggressive so far. They really need Bradley to show up.

The back line is bending a lot, let's hope it doesn't break. They lucked out on that recent attack.

Too many good opportunities for Belgium. Gotta limit those otherwise they are going to be able to convert one of these times.
