What are your thoughts? Likes, Dislikes? Looks like we might be replacing my wifes car sometime soon. I like the idea of: -AWD -decent mileage -not having to drive 1, 2, or 4 hrs to get warranty/recall work done -looking used w/ a budget of 10-15K What we liked about our Mazda: -nice fit & finish -FWD w/ Blizzak tires, the thing is unstopable in the snow if the bumper's not plowing -hatchback was nice Wish we could have gotten more mileage out of it. For a small sedan w/ a 4 cyl, we only got 26-29 on a good day. What say you all?
It's a Chevrolet...walk away now...enough said. ^Just for Germ:D In all seriousness, I don't have any worthwhile input here, except your comment about Blizzaks. Put those on ANYTHING...even a Chevy, and you will have no problems in the snow. The AWD would be a plus.
Yeah, wish I would have put them on my Mustang back in the day. That sucked driving it around Duluth's hills in the winter....
A co worker and his wife got a new one about a month ago. They love it. He hasnt said anything specific about it other than they really like it. They have a couple kids. ...early teens and they seem to have plenty of room
I'm pretty sure the only people that drive Subaru's around here are lesbians, not that there is anything wrong with that.
Dude, I can't even imagine trying to get around in a Mustang in Duluth. That's gotta be hard on clutches.
Both dealers are 2 hours away. Tons of Hondas & Subarus in Ely though (I bet more of the latter). When we were having our motor replaced last month, Sara had an '13 Outback for two weeks. She liked it, but we'd really like something from a local dealer. That pretty much limits me to Chevy, Buick, Jeep, or Ford. Plus, in our budget we'd be getting a Subaru that as old or older than our '04 Mazda.
Yeah. A few times I left my car at the bottom of the hill. Slid through a few intersections in my day too. Crazy biking & rollerblading there too Somedays, I'm surprised I'm alive.
Depends on the vehicle. We travel mostly in the winter (cause we're strapped to the resort in the summer), so we need to balance mileage with winter reliability. We honestly only put 7-8000 miles on our car a year. It's not so much a saving $$ thing as it is a "right thing to do" for us. I'd love to get a Wranger, but she wants better mileage than that (plus I have a '78 CJ7 in pieces in the garage that I'll finish some day ). In the end it'd be nice to get at least the 26-29 we are getting in the Mazda. 30+ would be better.
Service location won't matter if you get the Honda. You will never need it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My mom has an equinox, as far as I know she hasnt had any major problems with it. My only little quirk is something is weird about seeing out of the back and sides, its a little awkward to me.
I own some repair shops and see a lot of those equinox....seem to be nice running vehicles without to many quirks but I'd expect gas mileage to be more around low to mid 20s than the 32 highway they suggest on the v6....this is the number one complaint I hear from my customers about them Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
My parents bought a 4 cyclinder equinox about 7 months ago, and I drove it to Nebraska for a spring turkey hunt with my dad. It was a very quite ride but the 4 was severely underpowered. It felt like you needed to floor it just getting on and off the interstate. My parent's biggest complaint was that it is no where close to the the advertised mpg.
We looked at one 2 years ago for my wife and she didn't like the room and the price tag. We got a Pilot and she loves it
My wife has the pilot I have a Ridgeline and I just bought my grandmother a CRV for Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
