Me? I put on a quick stalk and killed a doe from the ground with no blind while I was in the mts of Va.. I took another decent buck this year, something I always shoot for. I have taken 6 deer so far with the bow this year..I got my 3rd double of my life. I killed my 31 st deer with a bow...I killed A deer on new property, which means I learned things about new property...I have seen and been close to taking two other good bucks this past week...I have passed on 2 spikes, one 7 pt, a 4pt and 7 does. Overall, this season has been pretty good. I have til Friday before our bow only season ends..I will continue to hunt some small parcells during the week with the bow til jan, and Saturdays will be for gun with friends til Jan.. I believe I still have a legit chance to kill a really nice buck with a bow for about 2 more weeks.. and several does for another 1.5 month.

I ended a 6 year buckless drought, and I did so by seeing and killing the biggest deer I've seen on stand in PA. Biggest buck with archery gear, and my furthest successful shot in the field (37yds...unintentional, however).

I was also able to take my first fall turkey with a shotgun. I took one last fall with the bow (also a first).

I tagged a buck the earliest in the season ever for me as well (Oct.20).

I was fortunate enough to harvest one of the Bottom Deer off our property, albeit a doe. I was still uber-pumped because they are tough deer to hunt.

Now comes a Bottom Buck ;)

Took my first big game species other than a whitetail with a bow. Yukon moose. A definite milestone for me.

I finally filled my goal from the previous 5 seasons....to kill my first P&Y buck. I filled the task and then some with that goal. My season is already a success regardless of how the rest plays out.

From here on out I am still looking for my 2nd P&Y buck, but I plan on taking out at least 1 doe for the freezer. Thus far, that doe has been hard to come by as I haven't seen one since I took my buck.

Changed my philosophy in regards to how I would approach filling my two Idaho tags this season due to the fact I would be gone in Iowa during my prime time rut here in Idaho. I used to hold out until the bitter end on tweener bucks. Shot one this year with tag 1 and have focused in on a better buck until I leave. Enjoying that approach much better right now....versus getting stuck with a 300.00 second tag in my pocket. I like my chances but could still not fill that second tag..yet it feels good to have one dead and meat in the freezer before I leave for Iowa.

going to Iowa for the first time, heck first time in the Midwest for whitetails ever!

going to hunt Montana with my longbow come Dec/Jan

2009 has been very good to me and is certainly filled with firsts:

Jan 3rd, arrrowed a nice 5x5 desert mule deer in New Mexico. I realized the next day that feral hogs consummed said deer.

I killed a dandy turkey in Nebraska. A week later, I took my first shot a a Rio Grande in Oklahoma. I missed the shot, but on that trip I slept through my first tornado.

I arrowed my first P&Y coastal black bear on Prince of Wales Island with the Kodiak Kid Rob Swanson. I get to take Rob ON his first hunting trip to Wymoing. I hope he arrows his first Bison.

I mangaged my first trip to the Artic where I arrowed my first Musk oxen. This beast was the first animal to be hit with my first Custom Kanga Longbow. A doe in South Dakota was the first animal to actually be taken with the longbow. I missed my first two bucks with the long bow this past weekend in Kentucky (both deer were slam dunks with the compound).

I'm taking my first hunting trip to the Pacific Northwest this December. I hope to arrow my first black-tailed deer. The Washington state trip will be followed by a trip to Texas where I hope to assist my daughter. This nine year old is going for her first whitie buck using a crossbow.

I got to hunt with a whole mess of people for the first time...Aaron. Brandon, Rob, Rex, et al. I wouldn't trade these experiences for all the tea in China!

First out of state hunt ever with Jeff in NC.

First taking a buck over 100 inches.

First to take a 3.5 year old buck.

I am hoping to make it a first in taking 4 deer or more with my bow in one year. I have taken 3 so far this year (1 buck/2 does).

I used to bow hunt alot when i was younger, well the kids are grown and I have more time to myself now, so I decided to get back into bow hunting this year. It had been 15 years since I shot or owned a bow. I bought a bow in september and practiced all month long. have spent alot of time in the woods. October 18 I drew my bow on my first deer with a bow in 15 years & i got it! it was not a big buck just a doe, but to be off for 15 years and come back & shoot the first deer that I drew on felt really great! now I am just waiting on the big boy to complete my season

Its been a great year for me to. I have reached 4 out of my 5 goals so far. I have killed a spring Tom, a Fall Tom, A Doe, a great Buck, but the only thing I didnt take was a coyote. I did have two come in the day I shot my buck, but got by me before I could get on them :( I normaly only take one Doe (I can take 4) But may take another for my Brother inlaw. I have seen 29 bucks thus far, this season and alot of Does but I didnt count them. OH, Im still going after Yotes to! It aint over ;)

This is the first year I have passed on 3 different bucks. 2 of which would have been my best archery kill. My "goal " is one over 100 inches. Man that one was close, If I see him again I may have to try to take him.

Killed my first buck (accidentally) with my bow. Still just as happy with it as if it had been the doe I thought it was when I shot.:D
