Florida Georgia Line's new album is great music. Anything Eric Church does is pure gold.

I still like Blake Shelton for his hunting antics...beyond that, I don't follow country that much.

    I do enjoy Brantley Gilbert.

Kimberly Perry = babe. I like her voice a lot too. I actually do think she has some talent.

I went through a phase where I was all country all the time several years ago, but it only lasted about 6-8 months truthfully.

I am sure there is some good country music out there still, you just have to turn off your radios and find it. Big fan of Ryan Bingham, although he's not really country. He's more Americana, blues, rock; but he does have a country influence. It's hard to not like him.

I still like my 70s, 80s, and 90s rock. Believe it or not, I still haven't gotten tired of those songs. But my music interested has become considerately more mellow as of late and I really like indie folk bands, especially Noah and the Whale. Also like Sun Kill Moon and Robert Francis.

Ok now that we have run a muck in this country thread and made it an EPIC 70's Southern Rock thread cause country music sucks... I think I will call it a night.

I've seen the Allman Brothers several times over the past two decades...great band indeed

People who exactly play instruments and play them well...what a concept!

When they started with the concept of 2 lead guitars and 2 lead drummers, they said they would either be really good or really bad. I think it payed off for them.

Not many bands in popular music have huge hits with all instrumental songs.

Ahh the Allman Brothers... I saw them a few times in college. Not the original line up, but Derek Trucks was with them. People tell me I had a good time. Details are sketchy at best..

Oh, FM country and CMT suck. There’s some good stuff out there. XM and Pandora…….

What modern country music lacks is substance. And the bigger problem, is people keep buying into it.
There are bands out there actually making real country music.
Austin Lucas, Doc Dailey and Magnolia Devil, Chris Knight (though he has received some recognition in the mainstream), Whitey Morgan and the 78's and the list goes on.

For those of you that are also displeased with the "rock" scene, there is life out there yet! Tons of great bands that I travel all over to see. Bands influenced by the great bands of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Bands influenced by Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Skynyrd, The Allman Bros.
The Gaslight Anthem, The Drive By Truckers, Glossary, American Aquarium, John Moreland, or my favorite band in the world, Lucero.

The point is, the music is out there. You've got to be only a little computer savvy to find it. You've got to have an open palate to something that doesn't sound clean and watered down.
