Geeze, I can't imagine why people would complain about the percentage of money the government takes out of their pay checks and wastes. IF, the government was fiscally responsible and we knew that the money we payed in taxes was being put to GOOD use, then you probably wouldn't hear that much complaining.
Oh no, I get that. ***** away about taxes. But the people yelling "Obama increased our taxes!" because of this annoy me.
Perhaps that's because he said(and campaigned) that he wouldn't raise taxes on the middle class. And while technically, he didn't "raise" taxes, the middle class is still paying more than what they did last year. It still means less money in our pocket this year than last. Couple that with the inflation over the last few years and we are no better off, even with raises from our employers.
Only complaint I've had about my paycheck of late was IL raising the state income tax from 3 to 5% a while back. Luckily for me this is only temporary and will return to 3% in 2015. I believe that is the same year the flying pig tax will be introduced as well. I don't think there is any such thing as a temporary tax increase, once they've incorporated that extra money into the budget the only change will be to raise it again not lower it back down. And we'll still be a virtually bankrupt state.
The decrease never should have happened the way it did. Whether we like it or not we have an obligation to fund SS for the people who planned on having it at their retirement age. Tinkerung with the income to fund it was short sighted political maneuvering, and it goes against the liberal mind set that they can spend my money smarter than I can. If you want to improve the economy put more of our income tax dollars back in our pocket. Thats my uneducated opinion.
