I've seen a coyote three times on the newly acquired property near my house. Saw him yesterday before dark heading up the woods to my house. I'd really like to get a shot at him. I don't need/want an electronic caller right now and don't want to jeopardize my deer hunting. I just want something that is easy to carry and would coax a coyote closer once spotted. Any suggestions?

try a simple mouse squeak by sucking on your lower palm...worked well for us last winter to close the final distance.

    cheap call too!:D

Yeah, I just squeak with my lips and manage to sound pretty good. lol Long drawn out like a hurt or caught mouse. I have called several foxes in for a kill that way.

Lohman wooden hand calls sound really good. I always have the cottontail version with me while I'm hunting (as we are overrun with yotes), but I rarely ever use it.

The only time I usually try to call them while I am bowhunting is when I see one. And if they are that close, I just squeak like the others have said.

I always carry one, mostly for the foxes I commonly see. I always forget & leave it buried in my pack. Then when I do see a fox and do my horrible attempt at a lip squeak, I scare it off or it completely ignores me.
