Nope, I was watching South Carolina beat the crap out of Southern Miss. Total beat down. Right now I'm watching a deminished USC team whip up on Hawaii. In between I flipped through the pro football preseason games. I've been a football junkie all night.

Nah, sounds like it was a good one. Watched part of the SC/So. Miss game, that was about it. SC's RB freshman recruit looks good.

I stayed up to watch the whole game.

It was a tough place to go into, I was hoping they'd win, but I didn't have too many expectations like many other Pitt fans do.

I watched the Gamecocks.....and switched over to the Utah/Pitt game with a couple minutes to go.

THat's all you needed (from the casual fan's perspective) to see.

Yeah after the Minnesota/Middle Tennessee game was over I turned to Versus and watched it till the end. It was a good game. Looks like Utah is a tough place to play.

Can't say I've seen a sequence like that before at the end of regulation. I hate when coaches call a timeout at the last possible second. I laughed when it backfired on the second attempt.

Yeah no kidding. Then he just snuck it in behind the left upright. It definitely seemed to affect the kicker.

He was rattled. That's a textbook example of why they DO ice those guys.

Was it just me Jeff or were the commentators absolutely brutal to listen to? They were terrible!

    No. It wasn't you.

When the 1st TO was called, they were clueless. Hell, all you had to do was look at the game clock. There were 3 seconds still on the clock. It never started. You knew something was up. Second attempt (one he missed), same thing.....and they STILL got fooled, AGAIN.

Pretty funny (to me).......and embarrassing,( if you're VS).

Personally I can’t STAND the timeout as the play goes off deal.

Either call it as they are lining up, or too bad. On the last play of the game, once the offense is set, the D can’t call time out for any reason.

WAYYYyy too many reason why that'll never happen, Ryan. Think about it. There's never be another punt returned.

While I don't like it when they call it at the last second like that, I agree they won't change it. What if the coach notices its a fake, or he doesn't have enough players, or too many players on the field? Just part of the game now I guess.

While I pretty much agree with you guys that they will never change it, and I hate having too many rules in general, for the last play of the game ONLY, (clock 5 sec or less) just make it that once the O is set, no time outs. If you have too many or not enough, your loss. It plays into just as much a preparedness strategy as calling the lame TO.

The D can't be hurt by having too FEW players on the field. They can just send players on, at will.
