I'd say the Saints are pretty easily playing the best football in the nation heading into the playoffs. But they won't win a nasty cold weather game, so I think that game comes down to weather. If it hits a warm snap, Saints take it. GB needs to hope for the Falcons to beat the Giants. Eli can be scary to go against with Cruz and Nicks as wideouts. Not to mention the falcons face the same problem as the Saints, warm weather inside teams don't fair well up north. AFC is wide open at this point. I'd normally say the Steelers but Big Ben isn't 100%. I'll take the Patriots vs the Packers in route to a repeat for GB, as painful as that is to say. Hoping to see the Saints Pats instead.
Matt Flynn made the phrase "It ain't going to suck itself" famous around the LSU campus during his tenure
Good news for the Packers defense, we will have Chad Clifton starting in the playoffs!!!!!!! Took a few snaps against the Lions, feels healthy and now a couple more weeks to get even stronger!
Well, lets look at the two categories that really matter when it comes to team defense: Packer D: 22 pts per game against, 34 take aways Saints D: 21 pts per game against, 14 take aways Since points given up is negligible...I'll take the D that creates a lot more turnovers
Because when Rodgers doesn't play, his backup throws for 480 yards and 6 TDs. Its obvious they could just plug any QB into that system. Doesn't make Rodgers seem so valuable anymore. Brees is more important to his team.
LOL I love the sarcasm wrapped around the serious point you are trying to make. Brees is obviously more valuable to his team, but I highly doubt any qb could step into Rodgers shoes and succeed at his level either.
Matt Flynn given 4 years at Saints could do the same thing in the Saints system...he's good get over it. Unlike the Colts or other teams, Green Bay has always done well under TT at drafting and maturing solid back ups at all positions (yes that includes a hugely underachieving defense from this year).
Not so true. Flynn has been Rodgers understudy for 4 years, they train and practice together. There actually pretty good friends from what i read. Aaron Rodgers skillset may be the best....ever, his proficiency is the best the NFL has ever seen (Lowest INT %, Highest passer rating, YDS per attempt...this is EVER, not season or active, EVER). Rodgers, as everyone knows, spent 4 years studying the good and bad that Favre did, and now Flynn has studies for 4 years the good and the better that Rodgers has done. He's a legitimate starting caliber NFL QB, just watch re-runs of the Patriots game from last year if this year's game doesn't convince you. Honestly, the MVP is pretty much a wash between Brees or Rodgers, you can argue for both. The best argument i have for Rodgers is that he has comparable stats to Brees with 1 less game and 150 less pass attempts. More wins, and the #1 seed. He's earned the MVP and wasnt chasing records.
One of the 10 best Packers games ive ever seen, and ive been watching the Packers since the 90's without missing a game since 2006....
The fact that Flynn threw for 480yds, means that my MVP vote would go to Brees instead of Rodgers, because it's evident that Brees is better.... If Flynn can throw for 480yds with that group, then MOST average QB's in the NFL should be able to. Brees would have had 800yds!!! 'Nuff said...
