Has anyone tried these burning scent sticks? I’m not really one to use a lot of scents, but I do like the idea behind this and know how far smoke can carry on the wind. For example, I can smell burning leaves or a person’s fireplace from a long way away.

Any ways, I read the reviews online, but it’s hard to decipher what’s real and what’s posted by someone working for the company. I would love to hear some opinions or any first hand experiences.

    Thanks.

I tried using those scent sticks two years and ago, but I left early because I developed the munchies real bad and the whole basement smelled awful.

that was joke, but I actually did try them with no success. after I lit the thing I just thought I've got smoke rolling into the bedding area, and I hope it doesn't freak the deer out. I threw them away after that. it just seemed bad to me, but I'v heard of people liking them.

yeah...I'm not using anything in the timber that can start a fire. Seems pretty strange.

My buddy won some a couple years ago, so we tried them. They didn't do anything for us. We were in one of my hotspot where we always see deer, but we didn't see a thing with them burning

I posted about this in the deer thread. I used the brand made by Tinks and did a trial using a stick and a decoy at my local forrest preserve. I used an ACXC cam to try and capture the action on film. In the fading light at 100 yards it looks like a doe came right up to the bucket.

I tried it out on the lease a couple times this year with no luck, but then, we just aren't seeing deer this year. Anyway, I can say they won't scare deer away, because that Doe hung near the bucket for a while. The Tinks may be less expensive too.

Thanks all, I may pick up a pack and give it a shot in the next few weeks. I saw that they want you to use a plastic container with them. Looks like something I can make out of 2 inch PVC.

I tried the tinks brand last year one sit. I had 4 deer cruise by three does and about a 120" 8 point. I am not saying that the Tinks sticks brought them in but I will say they didnt seem to care about them either.

The one big piece of advice I can give you is make sure you light them to where the wind is blowing away from you....! If the winds are swirling dont even think about lighting them because that smoke smell STICKS TO EVERYTHING especially clothing!!!

They really are a neat concept! Gd Luck!!
