It's in the low 50s today, with 50s, 60's and even 68 forcasted for Ely over the next 10 days. Our snow is going fast! Looks like I might have to get out after some sheds this week Most of the state was bare all winter, but we've held snow cover since late November. Two years ago, the ice came off the lake on the 1st of April (earliest since my dad moved here in '91). We just might have a shot at a new record. ... of course, when we moved up in '08 on April 1st, there was a 32" snow storm
SE Wisconsin virtually none. Just a little bit on north side of slopes in the woods where the sun doesn't hit it. Northern Wisconsin still has some but like you said its going fast!! Bring on spring!
Just a few of the plowed piles left here in Chippewa Falls. I believe there's still some on the ground at the cabin an hour NE of here, as they got twice as much as us in the last storm. That should be taken care of over the next few days.
I remember that year. We only had about 20" in Ontario, but we about to start construction on a new cabin that had to be completed by June 1. I went home for a few days to pick up more supplies instead of hanging around there. We've also had couple years of snow on opening day of fishing season up there. (3rd Saturday in May) That was miserable. '09 was miserable too. Rained something like 78/90 days that summer and was cold. I remember fishing July 4th in my heavy rain suit. Highs for a few days there were in the upper 30s. Hell, we didn't hit 80 that year until September. Yeah, we're not out of the woodwork yet.....though the extended forecast looks great.
Had almost no snow at all. Just an overall warm winter. Didn't get any pond hockey in. Right now it's 71 and sunny here.
What is this "SNOW" you speak of? I haven't seen enough of it this year to remember what it looks like. Been in the low 80's the past 2 days. Tying record high temps.
X2...only had one snow that required shoveling this winter. No snow days (knock on wood)...a first in the 5 years I've been teaching. Going to be sweet being out by June 1st.
Actually got warm so fast that I did not get to frost seed. I think it will be to late by the weekend. Dean
Same here, we got about 4-5" of snow here but it was well on it's way to melting before you could do any shoveling.
Not a bit here in NY. I mowed the greens, tees, fairways, stuck the pins in and open for business. Earliest I've ever been opened.
Snow??? What does this so-called snow you speak of look like? I think we might have gotten 15 inches total this winter. It is by far the mildest winter I can remember. The snow we did get did not stick around for more than a couple days. I think old man winter has one more blow in him though. I'm not counting my chickens just yet. It is going to be close to 80 degrees today though
bingo !!! we have a winner !!! I wouldn't put those shovels away just yet...I can remember May 11th, 1990, Milwaukee, Wisconsin....13.5" of wet heavy snow !
