I recently got a TC Triumph - my first muzzloader.

Anyone use one of these? Any tips? Links to good reads or literature?

I'd really appreciate any info. Don't know much about them, but am looking forward to learning them with Dad (he got one too).

    Thanks!

    Hey bud,

I've got a Triumph and absolutely love it. It's extremely accurate, easy to shoot and very easy to clean. If you google TC Triumph Reviews I'm sure you'll be able to find some good info on them, but in my experience they are top notch muzzleloaders!

Tell me, guys.....Can you utilize interchangable barrels with the triumph?

I know you can (pretty sure) with the omega.

I'm sorta in the market for a ML, myself.

The Encore is the one you can change barrels on.

Yep, its the Encore. I've had mine for about 10 years and love it. I only have the .50 cal ML barrel for it, but I have borrowed a .300Win Mag and used it to kill a mule deer. I absolutely love the gun.

    Thanks guys.

I'm very intrigued by the loads, etc. Anyone have one they want to share?

Do you guys pour your own powder, or do you use the pellets?

I've heard both 100 grain and 150 grains of powder with 250 grain Shockwaves are liked by the gun. Anyone have the same results?

I've been shooting the Triple 7 Magnum pellets, 2 of them, and a 250 gr T/C Shockwave bullet. I really like the load and killed an elk and a doe with it this year, but the Shockwave can be very difficult to load in my gun. It may have something to do with it being stainless. My brothers shoot the Power Belt Platinum bullets and love them. They each killed an elk with them this year as well.

I use 3 of the Triple 7 pellets with the 250 gr TC Shockwave bullets (use 3 because I got one of the scopes with the drop compensating crosshair). I have only shot a doe so far though, but it did a number :tu: There was one entrance hole, and 3 exit holes lol

Actually, it is highly recommended not to use 3 Triple 7 pellets. Because it burns hotter than Pyrodex its too strong of a load. The reason they designed the Triple 7 Magnums was to get that little extra out of the gun without over doing it and using 3 50gr pellets.

Interesting... I will have to look into that. The guy at Cabela's set me up with everything, and he was "the muzzleloader guy", so I just figured he knew what he was talking about. Thanks for the heads up :tu:

The 150 being too hot is news to me....but I don't know anything about it.

Winke suggests 150 grain......but also says 100 will do.

I'm going to go with the 100 just to be sure, I think.
