I am trying to find a way to convert northing/easting coordinates into Lat/Longitude coordinates, but I am not having any luck?? I am trying to find boundary lines on a new lease, but the map that we have only has northing/easting and I dont know how to figure it out?
Hey..you need to go into the settings on your GPS and change the format to Degrees, minutes, and seconds....that is what I had to change my GPS to in order for the maps I was using to match the gps coordinates. Also, what type of GPS are you using? Have you tried using this website...you can mark boundary lines and match up the lat/long coordinates: http://mapper.acme.com/
VirginiaShadow~~ Thats not the problem I have my GPS programmed for the whole D,M,S deal. Where my problem lies is the map that we got showing the boundary lines, with all the spots marked for the edges is all done with Northing/Easting Coordinates? (Ex: Northing 641383.9523 Easting 269078.1751) I am wanting to turn them numbers into something such as N38.34.999 W078.55.009 so that I can program them into the GPS.
Thanks but it is way off compared to one known coordinate?? I will just wait til tommorow and call the surveyer and see if he can tell me how to translate it?
