I have a 8 month calendar and the wife is very good about it....basically it only goes up to August, once September hits, we make no plans on attending anything..but that is what they make cards for

No weddings. My wife is away at a weekend work conference in late october that I am not to thrilled about, but I will make it work.
Depending upon how some one is related to me or the nature of our friendship I don't have a problem missing a day of hunting,I hunt plenty enough if one day is going to destroy my season than I suck as a hunter.A couple of years ago I drove back from a wedding that was 3 hours a way because I didn't want to miss two days of hunting. My wife and daughter rode home with her parents.I don't know that that was the wisest thing I ever did!Especially when it rained hard the next day and I didn't hunt.
