Just wondering if anybody does any carp fishing. My fiance and I were out fishing one of the local streams yesterday for smallmouth and trout and we noticed alot of carp swimming around. I have never really done any carp fishing and I was wondering what everybody uses to catch these guys. I have heard nightcrawlers, corn, and bread work but I have no clue on it. It seems like another stream fish that would be a blast to catch so I am thinking about trying to catch some of them this summer. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I figured that I might as well through in a couple pics from yesterday... these are the two best smallies that I caught. It was a VERY slow day for Tiffany and I.... she caught one small rainbow trout and I caught a small rainbow and four smallies. These were the two best smallies for me....

Man that water looks awful shallow and really clear. Were you using spinners? Nice fish by the way.

Yea Scot... the stream was down a good bit. I wasn't using spinners.... my fiance was using a 2" Yo-Zuri Pins Minnow in the gold flame pattern and I was using Manns Hardnose Frogs (white) for my smallmouth. We are in for a good 8 or 9 days of off and on rain, so it should hopefully help the fishing out a bit. I am gonna have to stick to the lake near my house until the streams clear up, but once the water level rises and the streams clear off.. the fishing should be much better!
