Has anybody tried crow hunting? Me and a buddy have been hitting the snow covered milo field pretty hard lately with my Foxpro, and its been a blast. Yesterday morning we killed 42 crows (that we found, might have been a few more). I think it was the most fun I have had hunting in quite some time. The Foxpro seems to work pretty well on them with the standard Crow Fight and Dying Crow sounds, but I just downloaded a few more crow sounds to try out tomorrow morning. We will see how well they work And here is my GregH impersonation
Damn that's a haul! We crow hunt (well used to anyway) quite a bit in the winters back home. Have some sweet flocked GHG Crow dekes and an e caller... But we have never came close to numbers like that. A group of 8-10 would be big for the area I live in back in KY.
I used to crow hunting a lot in the winter with fury foxpro. Same calls you used. The dead crows leave them in a pile and now you have yote bait pile.
Im assuming that was done with a shotgun. Hunting possible with a bow? Also, curious as to the reason for crow hunting. Population control? Nuisance? Are they a negative influence on other game? I know they tear up crops and I have heard they harass turkeys.
I've been saying I was going to go crow hunting for years because it looked fun but I have yet to go.
I used to love crow hunting. In VA you can only hunt crow on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. My day off is Tuesday and no hunting on Sundays. Sent from my iPad Mini using Tapatalk Bows, Broadheads and Backstraps
That looks like a blast! My brother in law and I talked about starting to crow and squirrel hunt on our property, for something fun to do when not really trying to tag a deer or turkey. Plus it's a fun way to get kids into hunting.
