It is made from the same polymer as a glock, S&W or Springfield. A few companies make them ATI, New Frontier, Plum Crazy etc etc... You can buy them for $40-50 stripped or like $150 as a complete lower. I did some quick searches and they seem to be sold out everywhere I checked but they were not a couple days ago. I have a S&W M&P15-22 which are made of polymer and it is fantastic in every way, although I have no experience with a polymer 5.56.
Awesome thanks a ton for the info man. Mind if I trouble you with one more thing? Any way you can PM me some sites you looked at for availability? Ones you would trust to order from? Gun shopping online is nothing im used to...gun broker is the only place I would even think to look. If you could give me a few places to keep my eye on it would be a huge help bud.
I'll add to the list of questions. If such a ban were to take place, are there certain parts to build your own that will not be included in such a ban? Was here or elsewhere someone said the lower is the serial numbered item that would be banned? Curious as to what order to buy in if a ban was rushed into action. Getting the impression it will be awhile for one to happen, but curious just the same. Thanks for any insight
First I would buy the lower receiver, just in case a total ban was put into affect. Although I highly doubt there will be a complete ban on AR's. And yes, the lower receiver is the only thing that is tracked via sales. The lower receiver is considered the the weapon (for a lack of better words). If there were a ban I believe it would be more on the accessories such as high capacity magazines, flash hiders, silencers, collapsible telescoping stocks and pistol grips.
I haven't looked on gun broker but I assume it's about like eBay. There was two magpul pmags listed for something like 175 or better. Crazy people paying that much.
Thanks for the info, I won't be purchasing in the near term unless it seems needed. Not the first time this has happened(ban scares and inflated pricing), but it's a new extreme on how it came about. Hopefully this isn't like gasoline and they realize higher pricing hasn't deterred sales as much as thought and we're seeing the new pricing benchmark. Has a sell out and back order like this happened in the prior dashes to buy or is this unprecedented in its own rift? Not sure how long it will take to get things back in stock.
There's been a lot of buying up stuff around where I live since the election. Not sure it effected everything like this. But I've seen other people say it was almost this bad in 2008 also but idk. It's kinda ridiculous that's for sure.
