I'm going to be using this in my truck instead of the ipod.
My question is....when connected to my pc, do I just open it up through explorer and create new folders for the music (instead of playlists)? Is that the easiest way(to get mp3's on there)?

    thanks for reply

Wait... we all want to know. Ask and answer so we can all gain some knowledge. I've been thinking of something like this but just don't know where to start. Tell us all.

I actually own two of the WD Passport hard drives but I don't use them like your suggesting - mine are more for just backing up digital pics and general storage.

I would open up MY COMPUTER (or Windows Explorer would work), double click on your passport drive and just copy a couple of MP3's to the root of the drive (not in folders). Try it, if that works, then go back and create a folder and put a couple more/different songs in the folder... Basically, you need to see if your 'radio' has the ability to read folders or not... If it see's the songs in the folders, then yes, you can create folders and do whatever you want... If not, then you may have to keep them on the root of the hard drive (not in separate folders)...

    Good luck!
