Little butt hurt you cant find any birds like everyone on this thread so you have to blame others? Nice! I am willing to bet 90% of the people in this thread started hunting as early as they could, just like you...
Ive always wanted to waterfowl hunt but know absolutely nothing about it and no one around here does it. Also pretty sure PA isn't known for waterfowl? Anyone around South Central PA?
Guided hunts? or your own deal.... either way nice stuff. I've been waterfowl hunting for 22 years and last year was my first time ever getting a pintail. Just so rare in WVa.
It's really crazy how many people forget stuff they learn in grade school English. I'd be pissed too if I couldn't kill ducks anymore because I couldn't compete with "rookies".
Nope our own deal.. Never been on a guided hunt. We had 4 straight days of limits of pintails early this year... We normally kill some but not too that extent.
Whats the daily limits out there? We normally limit out on green head and blacks. occasional gadwal and widgeon's
6 ducks total. 2 pintails, 4 mallards (only 2 can be hens), 2 canvasbacks, 3 redheads, 2 hooded mergansers, 3 bluebills, 3 wood ducks, and the rest are 6.
And wrapped in bacon with a little salt and pepper put on a hot grill...delicious. 2 hours and 2 minutes and its ON!
Good start this morning. We shot 20. I had 3 kids with me so the end total for the day doesn't tell the story of the amount of birds we shot at. But the kids had a blast and they got to see my old dog do some great dog work. Also hunted with my brother who is in the military and I haven't hunted with in 2 years. So the ducks we shot today were just a bonus to the good times we had. I didn't take any pics, it was cold, windy and the action was fast and furious this morning. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Im jealous Grnhd!!!! We don't open back up until Mid Dec and we're North of you!!! Cant wait to get back out there. Half tempted to go back to MI since the deer hunting hasn't been great here just so I can kill some more birds for the pup.
I've never been but would love the chance to go. Last year I worked as a seasonal worker at Sanganois State Fish and Wildlife area in Chandlerville, IL during duck season and it looks like a lot of fun. They have about 60 different blinds and they have a blind drawing every year that draws a huge crowd. From what I've heard it's pretty good hunting and I have a couple friends that go so I'll have to give it a shot sometime.
Iv just bought a waterfowl tag and stamp and now I just need to figure out how to do it here in Colorado anyone here want to show me lol?
15 for the total this morning. I let my 10 month old pup do some work today and she did great! Only 2 kids went today. Still lots of ducks around but with the big crowds of people and all the shooting its tough to get them to work in. Got a couple of scoters this morning! Those of you who know ducks know how lost those birds were to be in west ky. I'll try to post pics later.
Nice on the Scoters!!! Shot a couple earlier this month on Saginaw Bay. May head back up on Thursday since the old squaw and cans are showing up. Ended up shooting 8 or 10 different species in one day when I was up there. Sounds like things are going right in KY!
Rutin... grindin' the buffies and not afraid to shoot some sawbills to. I like it! Nice pics. Here is a shot from today. My son with a scoter and my 10 month old pup.
