Yeah I watched the Heartland Bowhunter episode where they went bowhunting for geese. It really looked like a blast, definitely something I want to try someday.

Now that I think of it I think I might have seen that too. Either that or saw the pictures Michael put on Facebook.

Another wasted morning I guess. Buddy backed out on me and I pretty much decided it was too much work to go to this spot alone, especially in the AM. So beyond frustrated, nothing seems to go my way this year.

It's illegal to bird hunt in Indiana like they did in that video.

I'm going in the morning. Teals opened up today also. I'm still very much a rookie but my friend that has good experience can't go so I'm going at it alone. I'm not too concerned. I know mostly what I'm doing lol

No luck with the teal. Saw 40 or so just wasn't setup right. Plus it was a public spot and had two kids come in at sunrise and setup 30 yards away from me blowing their calls non stop! Too many Duck Commander kids out there!!! Going back in the morning for round two.....

Negative. Someone was in my spot so I hunted a field about a quarter mile or so above them in a hay field on the same farm. No shots fired by me or them. Didn't even lay eyes on a goose. Saw 50-60 mallards though, in a few weeks I'll definitely be there to take care of some of them! Seems like the geese got off the water late this AM and didn't travel too far, on my way home I saw close to a total of 200 in 3 different fields closer to the lake. My spot with the most amount of birds is available this week so there's a damn good chance I'll have a pretty good number of birds down by next weekend. :tu:

I had a pretty dang good weekend this weekend.

Friday: 10 (forgot 10th in decoy bag for picture) and a band. Banded close to Iowa/Missouri border in '06.

Sunday night: Decided to do a solo hunt on a silage field a mile south of my farm. Limited out in 1 flock! Shot 4 with the first three shells and did a comeback call and got a loner to come back and finished him off for my limit; done in 20 minutes!

Finally got on a couple teal but got ate alive by mosquitos! Been trying to get my young dog on some birds to build his confidence and experience. So far no problems with breaking and hes been a pretty decent marker. Shot my first ever teal and Sarge made his first duck retrieve. Let the games begin....
