Are there any fellow trappers on this forum?! I'm new to the sport myself but have been kind of successful

Looks good. I use too trap, but moved a fees years ago, and everyone runs dogs. Don't feel like catching a bunch of coon dogs.

I just started doing some last year. Didn't get started til later in the year, but had a good time and learned a lot. I ended up catching several coons, but no coyotes or bobcats. I'll be doing more this year than last year.

I plan on trapping this year, but more to remove predators than anything else.

I learned how to trap before I actually learned to hunt. My dad was big into trapping, so he taught me a lot. I kind of suck at it because I dont focus on it much. I do plan on taking it seriously this fall to benefit the species that I actually do hunt on my farm.

I started trapping when I was 12 and did it hard core until I was about 22 or so (I'm old now). I trapped anything that the fur buyers would buy and prices were through the roof then (70's and early 80's). Each year I sold muskrat, mink, beaver, badger, coyote, red fox and bobcats. My senior year in high school I caught 10 bobcats and they averaged just under $300 each at the time. That's back when a brand new pickup was $7,000!
