It hasn't been to cold here untill today. Has anyone seen some bucks that have shed or shed antlers from the year yet in the midwest? Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri?????

The only bucks with one or no antlers around here are the ones that broke off while fighting. I haven't heard of anything shedding, either.

Haven't seen any on the ground while walking in and out or scouting new spots. I figure they won't start dropping for a while yet. Just now getting cold.

Nope, I don't typically start seeing bucks without bone or finding any fresh sheds till at least the end of Jan usually Feb. Last March I saw a Nice 8 with his headgear still intact. All depends on the mercury I think

A friend of mine from Wisconsin sent me trail cam photos of a buck that had bloody pedicles. So its possible that some are dropping already. However I have heard that it had to do with stress levels, so the more stress or pressure the deer has been put through, the quicker it will drop its antlers.

This holds true where I'm at Kansas. If they drop anything like last year we're gonna be waiting at least a month and a half to two full months.

Here in Indiana we have seen shedding already. Attribute it to injured deer or stress from the hot summer..

I saw yesterday that some of the bucks in Missouri and Iowa are dropping.

About 3 days ago when I was hunting I saw a buck that either broke both of his antlers off at the base or shed them.

I think some of the bucks are shedding because of the drought this summer.

Saw a shedded buck 2 days ago. He had to of been at least a 3 year old. No smaller then a 160 to 170 pound dressed deer.
